Establishing A Training Program In Second Life.
Opening a Second Life account is quick and (some say) easy. Establishing
a valid functional training program in Second Life might not be as
straightforward. At AHG, we help companies like yours to create a sustained
experience that engages employees and meets your objectives in running
an efficient training program.
The following products introduce you to corporate training in Second Life.
Without major up-front investment you can familiarize yourself
with the benefits Second Life brings to training and visualize how Second Life
simulations would fit into your training program :
- Second Life courses.
The series of Second Life courses are organized in two tracks.
Corporate executive track courses
provide in-depth understanding of virtual worlds from an executive perspective as a tool for
the creation of engaging training programs, the virtual worlds implementation strategies and problem
areas.
Instructional Designer / Developer track courses provide
hands-on training focused on day-to-day development and maintenance of Second Life projects.
-
Teamwork Simulation.
This simulation measures how well a group of people will work
together as a team. Along with it's direct
importance as an assessment and training tool, Teamwork Tester
serves as a great introduction to Second Life simulations. It eliminates
learning curve as people of different age, background and
computer experience come to realize that working in virtual worlds does
not require any more skill then one would need working with spreadsheet
or word processor.
-
Immersive Communication Training System.
Immersive Communication Training System allows you to create role-playing
simulations based on Second Life platform using intuitive web-based graphical
interface. Simulations use robotic avatars who interact with trainee according to
your scenario / simulation flow. Since robotic avatars do not need a live person
operating them trainees can invoke these role-playing exercises at any time.
Hosted version of Immersive Communication Training System
provides an opportunity to create and test role-playing simulations with minimum
investment and resources.

Robotic Instructors
are avatars that are operated by a computer program. They are logged in
Second Life on demand and provide a guided tour or lesson(s) for a trainees.
For example, Robotic Instructors may be used to demonstrate technical
equipment operation, certain procedures, provide guided tour of a location,
etc.
During the session robotic instructors can ask trainee to repeat specific
steps and provide trainee with a feedback.
Hosted version of the
simulation
allows you to test Robotic Instructors in your training environment
before committing to a full-scale project.

In a recent survey
more than 76 percent of respondents who implemented immersive training simulations
indicated they have received a modest to a very good return on
investment; 93 percent of respondents reported that immersive simulations
produced results that are better than other forms of rich-skill practice.
One of the aspects
of our mission is to help training professionals in transforming existing programs to make
them more efficient, especially as Gen Y comes to play more important role in the
enterprise.
Since 1996, AHG has been offering software solutions to the enterprise based on a
"ready-to-go" model. Where others offer consulting, we offer units of software that can
be installed on your network within days, if not hours. Today, with the Second Life, we
offer a unique
opportunity: you can subscribe to any or all elements
of the above start-up program at prices unheard of in the world of training.
